I do not see how anyone can write anything about Republicans without addressing racism! Yes, Republicans have one main objectice: to help the wealthy at all costs. In return, the wealthy will give them financial support for campaigns. However, there are just not enough wealthy folks to provide many votes. So, starting with Reagan the GOP cultivated the racist vote. So, uinformed, poor and working class white racists who were looking for anything that would "put black people in our place" and something to explain why being white was no longer the greatest thing since sliced bread, found the GOP.

That party has used that support from racists ever since, and Trump, the white nationalist that he is, is just more crude and open about it than most others. But, do not write one word about tthe GOP without addressing the built in racism that is the guiding light of the party! Everything else is, well, lets just call it "odiferous matter".
